The sipsi is a Turkish woodwind instrument. It is a clarinet-like, single-reed instrument with six finger holes, used mainly in folk music. 9" / 23 cm in length.
You have to place the enitre reed/mouthpiece into your mouth to get the sipsi to go, otherwise the reed is choked off and won't vibrate. Don't wet the reed, it is supposed to vibrate without any additional moisture.
